Mr. Alam Shah Safi

Chief Internal Auditor (CIA)

Mr. Alam Shah “Safi” is serving as the Chief Internal Audit at Pashtany Bank since June 2019. He has done his Master from Bakhtar University in the field of Business Administration. And Bachelors in Business Administration from Khurasan University. Moreover, he has More than 9 Years of Internal Audit experience in financial sector of Afghanistan.

Prior to joining the Pashtany Bank Mr. Safi worked with the Bank-e-Millie Afghan (BMA) in different senior positions for 7 years where he served as an Internee, Internal Audit Officer and his last position was Internal Audit General Manager.

Professionally, Mr. Safi is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Afghanistan (IIA Afghanistan). And his Certification in Internal Audit is also in the progress to be a Certify Internal Auditor.

Pashtany Bank has an independent and full-fledged Internal Audit Department with a well capacitated ,qualified and experienced team working under direct supervision of Chief Internal Auditor at Head Quarter working for the common objectives of the bank set by the Board of Supervisors.

Being a young and energetic individual as a Chief Internal Auditor of Pashtany Bank along with the team play a crucial role in assisting and providing essential supports to the bank in meeting its objectives and goals by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the risk management, control, and governance processes. Internal Audit advises Management on the adequacy of the system of internal controls and the effectiveness of the control process. Internal Audit provides an independent and objective assurance to the Management and Board of Supervisors aligned with standards of Institute of Internal Auditors. The Internal Audit is reporting functionally to Audit Committee and administratively only to CEO.
